As the journey began, there were some in the party who thought they might have made a mistake and should perhaps turn back. Heated discussions were had between many on both sides. Eventually, a sizeable group peeled away and, with heavy hearts, made their way homeward and back to safety.

As for the rest, they decided to carry on and face the danger, no matter what form it took. And still they wondered at their fate.
